Ten contestants, a barmy day at the Mill, the fish in a half-hearted mood but a closely run match ensued

Sunday 13th June 2004 Bubbles memorial match at Rowfant Mill

 

A very warm day with a N/NE wind putting a chop on the water did not deter the fish from feeding resulting in  5 double figure nets:

1st Dave Whitehouse   39 - 8 - 0   of bream + skimmers  +  a  tench

2nd Al Turner               33 - 7 - 0  of bream  + skimmers  +  two tench ( the pair weighed 10lb + )

3rd Paul Whitfield        17 - 2 - 0   of a small tench + all bits

4th Don Vallance         15 - 4 - 0 

5th Peter Collison         13 - 4 - 0  

Top junior was Greg Waples with 3 - 4 - 0

 

 

Senior citizens - Wednesday 16 June at Little Rowfant

12 turned out for this one on the Road and third lakes at L.Rowfant which were in a really dour mood despite the warm weather.

19/20 June      Night Match 1 (Social Cup)               L.Rowfant

Night match at L.Rowfant - a good turn out, good weather and good fishing UNTIL the sky cleared at midnight and temperatures plummeted to 6 and then everyone scurried back to their cars for thermals and boots, it was cold !  We "enjoyed" non-stop music from Rowfant House midsummer festivities until about 4 o'clock am. Even that that did not stop some people catching throughout :

The change to the weather over the weekend tended to put the fish down except in some areas and some good weights were recorded although most had a hard days fishing.

 

Match result: CDAS: 104 - 13 - 0   beat Horsham: 37 - 3 - 0

7th July Midweek match at the Mill

A really wild day on the Wilderness ( 50 mph winds torrential rain etc ) but that did not deter 10 hardy souls from lasting out to 3.00 pm

2nd Cliff Zano             18 - 15 - 0     four carp + some bits

A somewhat humid day  with the fish decidedly not interested

Sunday 18th July NatWest at  L.Rowfant

Heavy showers as we went to our pegs and starting tackling up followed by sunshine (at last). All three lakes at L.Rowfant fished well with four (almost five) 20 lb+ nets + plenty of double figure nets recorded - DGW

Steve was a young local angler who was tragically killed in a swimming pool accident, whist on holiday abroad.

Away match with Horsham at Roost Hole near Pease Pottage. A somewhat curious venue with depths going up to ~15 foot with many double figure carp with roach and bream. CDAS won the team match and the individual.
