Another miserable day (weatherwise)

1st Don Vallance        26 - 11 - 0     7 carp

2nd Kev McIntyre      26 - 1 – 0      5 carp

3rd Dave Whitehouse 19 - 5 – 0       5 carp

4th Roy Hurley          11 -8 - 0        3 carp

All 5 of us turned up to fish the Road Lake, needless to say as soon as I blew the whistle for the start it started to pee down and blow a gale, temperature dropped and the fish went off the feed. Winning weight was around 25lb from Don Vallance from the back of the island with another 25lb from the nearside. Roy Hurley fished up the left side of the lake casting into a bay on the opposite bank, most of his fish dived into the overhanging bush and were promptly lost. I fished the Bridge swim and lost 3 carp, one a double figure fish which came up to the surface, looked at me and then bolted up the cut under the bridge never to be seen again (like my terminal tackle). Anyway, back to the drawing board or perhaps I'll take up golf.

Regards Steve Green.

CDAS v HAYWARDS HEATH

Mill

1. Rob Standen  44lb 9oz

2. Roly Smith (Haywards Heath) 29lb 9oz

3. P Gibson 23lb 12oz

4. Steve Green 21lb

Haywards Heath won  154lb 15oz against 52lb 7oz Copthorne.

We fished against Haywards Heath on Rowfant Mill, our 5 anglers against their 9. The lake was flat calm for most of the day and it got quite hot which didn’t help the fishing. Having said that there was still a few good weights topped by Haywards Heath angler Rob Standen with a weight of 44lb 9oz from peg 10, all bream caught on the feeder, followed by Roly Smith (Haywards Heath) 29lb 9oz from peg 4, P Gibson 23lb 12oz peg 25 and me with 21lb peg 11. Haywards Heath won by a total weight of 154lb 15oz against 52lb 7oz Copthorne. Once again nearly all anglers caught on the feeder, this is obviously the way to fish this lake at the moment.
